Copper Sunflowers

I guess I forgot to post this. This card is almost all from Gina K Designs Signs of Autumn Stamp TV kit. The copper card stock, cord, and embossing powder are all SU!, everythings else is GKD. I guess we all know how much I love copper! The card stock looks a little darker than it actually is. It's GKD Chocolate Kiss Base Weight card stock, not black.

I hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween!!!

Praise God!

I love this gorgeous Stampabilities stamp! I got it from Creative Play Stamps last year, and I know I will use it every Thanksgiving for years to come!! Stampabilities is one of my favorite stamp companies because their images are beautiful and current, but never trendy. Plus they have wonderful scripture stamps.

The Buckle here is from Creative Cuts and More. I ordered a bunch of them a couple of years ago, and I love to add them to projects here and there. This one is cut twice: once from chipboard, and once from Bronze Stardream card stock. I just run the card stock piece through my X and glue them together. Works like a charm.

I used this same buckle on one of my CC&M & Caardvarks Holiday Blog Hop projects, and I do hope you will stop back by on the first of November to check out my Creative Cuts and More Christmas cards. You will be able to see projects from all the Caardvarks Design Team, plus the CC&M DT. I think it's going to be great big fun!!!

More Crayon Box Treats

The paper on this one has to be ten years old, and I have no idea who it's by! The sticker is Daisy D's, and the candy die cuts are K & Co. Of course I added lots of Orange Peel Stickles! I posted this pic twice-oops! It's not even my favorite!
This paper is old Hot Off the Press. It's pretty cute.
The cauldron and the sentiment are Crafty Secrets. I got the cute orange trim at a scrapbook store in Denver, it's now closed.
Used three different SU! punches for this guy, plus lots of Black Diamond Stickles.
Why am I posting all of these? Well, because it's Tuesday, and I have less than two hours from the time I get home from school to the time I go back for play practice. I just can't manage to get any stamping done during the week, so the stuff I made this weekend will have to do! These adorable acetate Crayon Boxes are from Creative Cuts and More. I think I'm going to order some more and do Thanksgiving boxes. I'm addicted!

Halloween Putz House & Crayon Box Treats

These acetate Crayon boxes are from Creative Cuts and More. They are the perfect size for four fun sized pieces of chocolate! I think they would be really cute with candy corn in them, and I bought some, but I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them, so I wanted factory wrapping. These boxes cost a dollar each, with embellishments and candy, I probably spent about $1.50 per box. Not much for a nice little thank you or thinking of you. They are just right for letting someone know they are special, without making them worry that they didn't get you anything!!
On this one I used Crafty Secrets stickers, Orange Peel Stickles, HOTP paper, and K&Co die cuts.
These were really fun to make, and I got to use up some Halloween odds and ends that I really didn't want to store for another year!
It looks like I got the seam on this corner, just not on the others. Oh, well, it's an easy fix.

Halloween Putz House~Scripture memory Book Page

This is a page for my scripture memory book. I've been working on it for two years. I'm pretty slow! I used the sketch from this week's StampTV scrapbook challenge for this. I'm using My Mind's Eye Bohemia and whatever I have around that coordinates well with it. The copper brads are from one of my STV kits-don't know which one, both Floral Frenzy and Signs of Autumn came with these gorgeous copper brads.
It occurred to me after I uploaded these pictures that they might seem a strange pair to some. I'm not one of those Christians who believes that everyone who has anything to do with Halloween is a Satan worshiper. I know who wins in the end. I know who has my back. I also know I love playing with Halloween colors and decor and the fun of costumes, and the mystery, and the leaves whirling around and the crisp autumn air, and the flickering jack-o-lanterns. I have a minor in speech and theater, for Pete's sake! I've been a drama teacher for nine years! What's not to love about Halloween!? I'll continue to celebrate Halloween until I am convicted that it's wrong.
I used a Crafty Secrets Chipboard house. This is my first one, and I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. I'm not finished with the inside yet, and boy does the white under the roof show! I almost decided not to post the pics because of it! I'll also have to fix the edges so the white doesn't show. I already spent a lot of time with a black Sharpie on all the chipboard I added, but I neglected the seams-obviously!!
The skull is from Creative Play Stamps' Skulls I set. The little witches are Penny Black. The stickers are Crafty Secrets. The glitter is Doodle Bug Sugar Coating in Beetle Black.

Bride of Frankenstein meets Rudolph!

This is another 2S4Y sketch. The die cuts & gem are all K&Co. The paper is HOTP, Basic Gray, and Rusty Pickle, plus SU! for the base. The sticker, Daisy D's. The ric rac is vintage. It's soft and wonderful and yummy. I don't like the stiff acrylic (or whatever) ric rac that is available now. The cotton stuff is so much nicer! I added a little Black Diamond Stickles to the corners for a bit more sparkle. If you don't happen to have any BD Stickles, you may not know that it has multi-colored glitter in it, so it's very rich, much prettier than plain black glitter, I think.

I used Gina K's Holiday Cheer Stamp TV kit for this one. This is her new gold cardstock-it's very nice if you are needing gold for Christmas this year, I'd recommend it! I still have some of SU!'s old gold cs, with the white on the back. Maybe I'll get it all used up this year!! These are also her ribbon and gold brads-very pretty for Christmas. I added some of my favorite Aqua and Candy Cane Stickles. My CC Stickles gets quite a workout this time of year, I think it adds such a festive touch, and you can never have too much sparkle, right!!?

I used this week's sketch challenge over on STV for this card.

Are my cards notecards?

It just seems that more often than not, I completely forget to put a sentiment on the front. I've done that the whole nine years I've been a stamper. I just don't always like to have a sentiment on the front, or I just decide it's finished without a sentiment.

I made this brown and pink card with supplies from my GinaK Stamp TV Floral Frenzy kit. Everything on the card except for the tiny Primas, and one punched flower on the lower right that I had on hand, came from the kit. That's how jam packed the STV kits are. This was the very first one, and I still have tons of stuff left in it! The stamp set is Bold Flowers. It's still available. I have had trouble making anything really impressive with it because it isn't a style I work with a lot. I think it's a cute set, it just lends itself to a more CAS style, which of course I'm not used to! I sprayed the brown flowers with Chestnut Brown Glimmer Mist. (On sale!!)

This card has no stamping at all. It's almost all My Mind's Eye Coastal-GORGEOUS STUFF!!! The base is Naturals Ivory, there's a Bashful Blue layer, a Confetti Cream band sprayed with Caspian Sea shimmer mist that are all SU! I'm fairly certain I got the beautiful velvet ribbon from Flourishes. I either bought it, or it was a freebie-they used to send wonderful little gifts with every purchase.

This is a 2 Sketches for You sketch. The spot where I put the branch is supposed to be a circle, but I got focused on this branch and had to use it. I sponged the edges with Basic Brown, painted it with Diamond Glaze, and then covered it with Angel Dust Art Glitter.

M's Sketch Challenge

Over on Amy's blog, I learned that Savitri's daughter, M, is doing sketch challenges. I had to scoot over there and see what was what. She's adorable, and it looks like she's quite the sketch artist, too! This is my card for M's Sketch Challenge #2. When Amy stopped by, she reminded me that this also worked for the 365 Cards challenge to use paisleys, so I linked it there, too!!

I used some new to me My Mind's Eye stuff. The brads, gingham ribbon and Naturals Ivory base are SU! The grosgrain is from a ribbon swap with TexasJodyLynn. The button is vintage-love my vintage treasures!!

It was VERY hard not to put glitter on this card, but I am always low on boy cards. I figure this will work for the 6-45yo male population.

More spiders, and a sea horse

I made this for the weekly color challenge over at GinaK's StampTV. The colors were blue, green & yellow. This was the first time I used the sea horse stamp from the Eclectic Summer STV kit, and I really like the way he stamped. I used Ballet Blue for my solid color and Basic Gray's Lime Ricky, also from the STV kit, for my patterned paper.

Here's another Creative Cuts and More Spider. I can't quit using them! Who am I going to send all these creepy Halloween cards to? A comment on the jewels: I got them on sale for a dollar. They are K&Co, and I have been having a blast using them on all my Halloween cards. I don't even think I'll use this package up this Halloween. Sometimes I marvel at how much pleasure I can get from things that cost so little. (Don't ruin my moment of joy by reminding me how much I've spent in the last nine years, okay!?)

2S4Y & Dog Gone Stamps

This week's 2 Sketches 4 You challenge is sponsored by Creative Cuts and More. I love 2S4Y, and of course could not resist playing when CC&M is involved! I used another Spider, which as I think you may have noticed, is my favorite Halloween die cut from CC&M. This one was just cut from Tacky tape, so it's very thin and easy to mail! I love having these cut from sticky tape because it allows me to pour on the glitter! I think it would also be cool to cover it in black flock. I don't think I have any black flock, but I think Doodlebug carries it in Beetle Black, which is my favorite black glitter. I get all my Doodlebug Sugar Coated Glitter at CC&M. The bottles are huge, I don't think you could use one up in under five years-and I use glitter every day!!

This little beauty from Dog Gone Stamps is called Maid to Order, from the 1926 line. I wanted to make a card with her, but I also wanted to use my new My Mind's Eye paper. I decided to use them together, and I think she looks so precious all dressed up for Halloween. I added a few touches of Orange Peel Stickles for some shine.

I'm home with the little guy again today. He made it through the night in his own bed, so that's a good sign. He also does not have a fever right now, but he had one off and on all day yesterday, so I'm keeping him home today. Lucky just came out of his room, she's up early. We took DS's bunk bed down last week and put a regular bed in there, and it took Lucky about five seconds to decide that's where she was going to sleep! Now they are both up, and DS looks pretty good! I hope you all have a great day today-STAY WELL!!!

It's a two card day!

Well, I have a kiddo home sick from school today, so I'm considering this a stamping opportunity! He's in bed playing Nintendo right now-I hope he falls alseep, he could use more sleep after last night! So could I, actually!

This card is CPS 138. The highlight of this card is the Creative Cuts and More Spider die cut. I had it cut out of chipboard, then pressed my Memento pad all over it, added a K&Co jewel and some Orange Peel Stickles. Pretty creepy, huh?

This one uses stamps and brads from my GinaK Designs Holiday Cheer StampTV kit, and My Mind's Eye paper.

At the Beach!!!

I made this on the day of our first snow storm! I simply ADORE the 1926 line from Dog Gone Stamps. Every time I look at this card I am just thrilled!! Not because the card is so great, but because I just love this gorgeous image! Isn't she just so sweet and pretty? I am going to collect every single one of the 1926 beauties!

The paper and cardstock sticker here are Sassafrass Lass. I think the ribbon is SU!. The letters are HOTP-love them. The ric rac and heart button are from Self-Addressed, a now defunct monthly card kit club. I loved those kits, and was sad when they threw in the towel. I love kits. Have a bit of a kit problem you could say. Of course none of you would ever say such a thing. Glass houses and all you know...

Just Believe by Shady Tree Studio

How sweet and simple is this darling little Christmas tree? It reminds me SO much of the first Christmas tree DH and I ever had! Twenty years ago we were young and broke and couldn't really even afford the tree we bought, which looked just like this. It was so tiny and forlorn, we set it up on the buffet and decorated it there. Ever since, we have both had a soft spot for little trees and have had several Charlie Brown trees over the years, even when we could afford better. You can see the rest of this darling set here. There is an angel, Santa and a snowman, and all of them are every bit as charming as this sweet little tree!

The star accent is from Creative Cuts and More. It is the Star #2 Small with Layer. I love the way they fit together perfectly, and that there are dozens and dozens of materials you can choose. You can also send in your own paper and have them cut it! This one is 3x3, there's also a 4x4 star!

I made this for a challenge over at Ginger Snap Creations.

Artfully Ila's Sweet Magnolia Challenge

Ila is one of my all time favorite stampers. Her work is just exquisite! Well, she had a sketch challenge on her Magnolia blog, and this is the card I made for it. I missed the deadline, but it was still lots of fun to play! This is a really terrific sketch!

This poor Edwin, whom I have had for a couple of years, had never seen ink. I put him into a very old SU! Simply Scrappin' journal box. I think he looks cute in there! The papers are SU! Kraft & Old Olive, and Basic Gray's Blitzen. I fear I will NEVER use all my Blitzen up. Luckily, I really love it, so I'm not sick of it yet.

I love my Christmas Primas, and my Candy Cane Stickles. I use them constantly during the season-they both put me in the mood and look so festive on Christmas projects. These are the old Got Flowers? Primas. I am one quarter Scotch, so I by golly am going to use them up whether they are the current rage or not! If you are running low on your Candy Cane Stickles, you may want to order now! This one goes like wildfire during the holidays, and you may find it out of stock in some stores!

Merry Christmas!!!

Please forgive the horrible pic. Sometimes I completely forget how to take a picture, plus I think I was out of light when I took this. I had lots of fun making this sweet Magnolia tag. I sprinkled Blue Boy Art Glitter into the Liquid Applique before I heated it. It's nice and sparkly!! Did you know that Art Glitter has raised their prices? Creative Play Stamps is selling their current inventory at the old prices, so if you'd like some new glitter at an old price, you may want to head over to their Art Glitter page!

You're the Best!!

This card isn't quite finished. It probably needs another hour of work. Accordion cards take forever! I wanted to post it anyway, though, because I won the Verve drawing on WCMD over on SCS with it! I got two beautiful new sets from Verve in the mail this week, and I am so thrilled! I love Verve stamps! They are always elegant, sophisticated and gorgeous!

I used one of my favorite embossing combos here: VersaFine Onyx Black, and Ranger Holographic. It's always beautiful!! I also used an SU! punch, and a Marvy punch, plus some Black Diamond Stickles and a Teresa Collins journal kit.

Today is church and lesson planning day, so I don't know how much stamping I'll get done, but at least some, I hope!!
