Summer Time & Rejection

This is for Card Positioning Systems #102. I loved this sketch; it was fun and easy! Plus, I love Crate paper, glitter and Glimmer Mist, so this one was a no brainer for me!! The glitter is Art Glitter in Lion's Mane. The ric rac, rub on and tag are all Crate Paper as well.

Now for the rejection! I submitted to the Spellbinders Design Team Call. FAILURE! REJECTION! YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO BE ON OUR TEAM!!! Now that is certainly not what they said. Their rejection letter was as nice as one can make that sort of thing. That is sure what it felt like, though. I've thought a lot about this, and I can't decide if it's good for me to apply for design teams. I had such success last year. I made five teams and three guest teams in about two month's time. Now this year I have not made it onto several. Why is that? I can only surmise that my work is simply not up to par. What is this desire I have to be on teams? Must I be validated? Is it okay to feel that need? Why do I let the rejection make me feel less than?

I have to digest all this. This and an incubating sinus infection. And a bad case of the winter blues. And a big job interview on Monday. And that my 17yods will be setting out on his own in six or seven months. I actually had to pull over on my way home from school today because I got to crying over that. I'm such a sap.

What a stunning card. Love that glittery heart. Carla--you are very talented..sometimes it is just that we are not the right fit to a team.

You are not a sap---you are compassionate--THAT is a great thing. Hugs!

Carla your card is beautiful and your work is outstanding. No one likes rejection; we all like validation. You'll be on other teams. In the meantime enjoy and have fun!

Oh, I see now. Sorry to hear about the rejection and I think you said it to me best when I was going through my low points about DTs so there's no need to quote you back to you. I just wanted to let you know that you have quite a number of fans, so teams or not, there's many of us who look forward to seeing and being inspired by your amazing creations!

I'll second what Carolina said! There'll be other teams. I applied for the grand total of 1 last year LOL and didn't get that but at the moment I'm enjoying just doing stuff for myself. maybe the right opportunity will come knocking on my door one day but until then I'll just do my "own thing".
You never know what's around the corner xx

Oh Carla!!! #1...this card is just darling...love, love all the glitter!! #2...at lest you had the courage to try for the spellbinders!!! ;) I didn't even try!! #3...my heart breaks for you that your children are moving out!! trust me...I could write a book on this, all 3 of mine are on their own now & have been for sbout 8 months now & sometimes I still cry about it!!! :( But we need to remember we raised them the best we could & should be glad that they want to start their own lives.

Aww Girly, they are simply clueless. Besides, you need some time to do what you want to do and use anything you please. I am super sick too. I should jump in the car and we can whine together. Now, Ross will be living with me so you won't have a thing to worry about. I'll keep him home every night and drive him to and from class so we can know he is safe. I have it all planned out. Don't you cry anymore! :-)
