I'm praying for you...

I almost didn't post this card, for two reasons. First of all, it's not a very good card. I created it while under heavy sorrow. That's the other reason I almost didn't post it, because I knew if I posted it, I'd need to tell you who it's for.

A friend of ours was on his way to church a few Sundays ago with three of his four sons. His wife and fourth son were at home. The dad went to deal with his phone, lost control of the vehicle, and the crash resulted in the death of his youngest son. The dad and the other two sons were all rushed to three different hospitals. They will recover.

May I just ask you, from the bottom of my heart, to always do two things?

1. Buckle up. The boy who died was the only person in the vehicle not wearing a seat belt.

2. Don't fiddle with your phone while driving. At all. Are your phone calls worth the lives of the people in the car and others on the road? The next time you go to deal with your phone when you are driving, just stop a moment and think about what this dad, a good man, has to deal with every second of every minute of every hour of every day for the rest of his life. Would you like to join him in his nightmare?

awww man that's terrible :( I'm so sorry :(
I don't think I've ever driven without buckling up, and my car doesn't move an inch unless everybody in it is buckled!!

I do like the flow of the card, its different.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's loss...I for one am so glad they put through the hands-free law cause I do believe it was causing such tragedies as the one you share with us. Augh, sooo sad to read this and can't even imagine how he's going to be able to live with this.

The card is darlin' though and I really like all the textures and the amazing thing you do with embossing powder.

Such a sad loss Carla.

Do you have laws against using phones in cars in the US? Over here it's illegal with a huge fine.

The card IS a good card, from the heart and full of heart. Agonizing story with a powerful punch/reminder at the end. I never even have my cell phone accessible when I'm driving. If I need to use it, I pull over somewhere, park, then call or call back. You've done a great thing, posting this. Hugs to you, prayers for the family!

I have no words. Anything I say will make me sound like a boob. Your story brought tears to my eyes and makes me very sad. Your card is gorgeous regardless. I'm so sorry for everyone who has to endure this pain.

OMG ... this is so sad and so senseless!! I'm glad you decided to post this ... if for no other reason than to make the rest of us think about how quickly this sort of thing can happen! God be with this family ... they will certainly need his strength and guidance to get through this!!

I'M PRAYING FOR YOU AND OTHER PEOPLE AROUND ME

Prayer for families is the very foundation that keeps a family unit together. Have you heard the phrase "A family that prays together stays together"? The concept is true - a family that has their focus on praying to the Lord Jesus Christ has a foundation that may be shaken at times, but it will withstand all that comes against them.
