Those, "Hey, Mom, give me a marker!" stamps...

I got this idea from Vicki Chrisman, I think! I really should check these things out before I go slinging around the attribution, but it's not life and death right? Just stamping! I thought it was very clever to toss all the supplies used for a card into a pile and take a pic instead of writing it all down. It would have been especially clever if I could actually get it loaded next to the right card!

This one's for this week's My Favorite Things sketch challenge, hosted by StampOwlFrances, as I call her. Tough sketch, and not my favorite card ever, but I do like the stamps and the colors.

The other day I was looking for a stamp to go with my new Verve feel better soon stamp, and decided on this sweet Magnolia. I was working on the layout when my five year old son wandered in. This Magnolia was peeking out from under piles of paper and he fished it out. "Hey, Mom, give me one of your markers," he said. Well, I'm no rocket scientist, but I am 45 years old and the mother of three boys, so I knew EXACTLY what he was planning. "What for?," said I. "So I can make a face here. A smiling face. And a NOSE!" Of course oldest ds (18yo) and I thought it was hysterical and LOLed quite a lot. When we told DH and middle DS they LOLed quite a bit, too.

I'm going to stamp a bunch of Magnolias and have littlest boy draw faces on them and make some cards. I also thought it might be fun to have him draw heads on some of my WTG? stamps!

I hope you are having a HAPPY FOURTH!!

Would you like to be a guest designer for Creative Cuts and More? Now is your chance! I can tell you that Terry, the owner, is a joy to work with, and you will definitely have a wonderful experience! Why not give it a try? Check out all the deets here.

I want to see the faces that he drew!!! Or did you allow him to ;o)
I hadn't heard from you in awhile and I hope I didn't get too wordy or over step anything by leaving comments on your son's blog. Sometimes I can get too deep and opinionated.

Your sketch challenge card is beautiful!
I love the magnolia image with the feel better sentiment. My daughter has been coloring the Tilda images and making cards...she has not asked about or has drawn a mouth on any of them, yet! I can't wait to see your son's cards.

I love the card with the umbrella. Great idea to snap a pic with the supplies rather than writing a long detailed account.
