Flower Girl by Dog Gone Stamps

Have you had a chance to check out Dog Gone Stamps yet? If you are like me, you love to look at stamps! If you take a few minutes to check out the beautifully drawn and whimsical stamps over at DGS, you won't be disappointed! This is Flower Girl. Isn't she pretty?

All the supplies I used on this card except for the ribbon, Stickles and stamp came from Creative Cuts and More's new Birthday Card Kit. Terry, the owner of CC&M told me she was going to send me a kit, so I was expecting it. What I wasn't expecting is how HUGE it is. It is simply chock full of die cuts, embellishments and 12x12 paper. There are hearts, scalloped circles, rub ons, different types of shape cards, and even envelopes! You can be assured that you will LOVE this kit! I know I do!

Embrace Christmas!

I made this about a month ago and just haven't gotten it posted yet. This is one of the new Shady Tree Studio by Cornish Heritage Farms stamps. It's such a sweet image, and so easy to color!

Tomorrow, at the crack of dawn we start our trip to New Orleans. DH's parents will be here today to take care of our other two boys. I am so grateful they are coming! It is so, so calming to me to know that they will be with the boys while we are gone!

I'll be scheduling a couple of posts to go live during my absence. Love you all, sistahs! I'll be back, I promise!

TOTALLY OVERWHELMED!!!!

This gorgeous Floral Gift Box is by Shady Tree Studio for Cornish Heritage Farms. I love the way it looks on a black, red and white card. These are intense, sophisticated and chic colors I rarely use, but they do have their place!

As you may have noticed, it has been a week since I've posted. I'm not sure I've ever gone that long since I started this blog. Suffice it to say that my new teaching responsibilities and the trip to New Orleans to take oldest DS to Tulane have me completely overwhelmed and just barely hanging on by my fingernails. Every thought of not seeing Ross every day is followed by the urge to throw up. Then there's the all pervasive leaden feeling of dread. Oh dear...how do moms do this?

One lucky hopper will win our brand new SEA LIFE 8x8 Album Kit! It's so new, we don't even have a picture yet, but trust me, I've heard about the goodies it comes with, and you want this prize!!!
Welcome to the August Creative Cuts and More Blog Hop! This month we are focusing on acetate!

This is a regular A2 card. CC&M's acetate is a very high quality & sturdy acetate. The cards come in MANY sizes, your favorite size is sure to be available!

In addition to the acetate card, I used the INSIDE, or cutout piece of another die cut window card, the Filigree Frame Square Scalloped Card. Obviously you wouldn't use it on the card it came out of, what would be the point? So you have the pretty piece cut OUT of one card, and ready to use on another project! Also, all the flowers are die cuts from CC&M. I had them all cut from Bazzill Bling, so they have a beautiful shimmer.

The precious elephant is from Polka Dot Parade, a set I won from Layers of Color. Layers of Color is a small up and coming stamp company with a talented artist and lots of wonderful stamps! This elephant is just one small example of their terrific collection!
This is the Basket with Handle. Just pretend it's full of Jordan Almonds or something that would be perfect for a shower or party. I guess we papercrafters would rather see buttons, though!!
CC&M is also introducing a brand new All Occasions Card Kit! These are so much fun! You get so many terrific goodies, all pre-coordinated for you and ready to go! You can enjoy cardmaking without having to paw through all those supply drawers! No more, "I thought I had so & so, but I can't find it!" It's all right there at your fingertips! How fun is that?
The Blog Hop coupon code is acetatebloghop0809, and you can spend it at Creative Cuts & More!

This is the cover and first inside page of the 8x8 Mini Album Set. It's a huge value! You can make a 20 page album with this heavy weight acetate. It comes with a protective plastic sheet on the front and back of every page.

I used Cosmo Cricket's Love Notes {06} and lots of Copper Stickles and Chestnut Brown Glimmer Mist. The butterflies are dies from CC&M. I love having them on hand, and have put them on so many projects this summer!

I hope you are enjoying our fun ACETATE blog hop! Now to see what the brilliant Chrissy has been up to, go here: Creating with Chrissy.

Fall Clean Up by Shady Tree Studio

Cornish Heritage Farms has several different lines, each created by a different artist. My very favorite is the Shady Tree Studio line. This beautiful scene is called Fall Clean Up, and you can see it soon on CHF. All of Nancy's other gorgeous stamps are here.

I colored this with pencils and OMS, then added Aqua Stickles to some of the green parts, cut out a few apples and popped them up, then added some Diamond Glaze to the popped up apples.

Let's take a moment to talk about Judikins Diamond Glaze. It's a stamping must have, I use it for so many things! First, it adds a beautiful, glassy sheen to images you want to highlight, like the apples on this card. Second, it is an incredible glue! I use it to glue down skittles, flowers, ribbon, anything, really. It will NOT come unstuck if you use Diamond Glaze. Third, you can add color, like reinker, to it to make a colored glaze. If you add a little glitter to that, voila, you have home made glitter glue! Diamond Glaze is one of the items that never leaves the top of my desk-I just don't ever want it to be too far away!!

The base is Bazzill, and all the rest is Cosmo Cricket Love Notes {06}. I added some Copper Stickles, it goes so perfectly with Love Notes, is it any wonder I love this line so much? It looks awesome with copper!!

Magic Happens!!

My youngest son turned six yesterday, so I have had little boy cards on my mind lately. I left the inside of this blank, but I thought it would work for a birthday sentiment or just an encouraging note of some type.

The stamps are High Hopes, the paper, Brilliant Blue and Glorious Green-both from the multi pack I bought in 2000! The designer paper is My Mind's Eye Kaleidoscope {06}. Of course I added some Aqua Stickles for a little sparkle!

Don't forget to stop by on Monday, August 10th for the Creative Cuts and More Blog Hop!!! This month we will be focusing on acetate!!

Ornate Bird Frame

I made this card using one of my favorite Inkadinkado stamps, Ornate Bird Frame. It's a fairly large tile type stamp. At first when you look at it, you might wonder what you'll do with it, but after you've worked with it for a while, you see how very versatile it is. You can cut it out to any size you like, including using the very center as an inchie. Not only can you use this stamp in any size, you can also use it to frame any other image, which also looks wonderful. I get all my Inkadinkado stamps at Creative Play Stamps.

What I did here is stamp the image in VersaMark and emboss with Classy Copper. The frame is From Cosmo Crickets Love Notes {06}, and I just aged the edges and layered the frame right on top of the bird stamp. Then those two pieces are up on foam tape. I punched a hole in the upper right hand corner and stuck in a copper Karen Foster Loopy Brad tied with a smidge of SU! brown grosgrain ribbon.

The sentiment is a Love Notes sticker, but I wanted it raised up, so I brushed the back with body powder to remove the stickiness. Then I stamped GinaK's Tag Lines sentiment on a scrap of Love Notes and punched with the word window punch. I aged all the edges with Chestnut Roan, stuck it to the card, and added some Copper Stickles.

As a final touch, I cut a nestie scalloped circle, aged it, and added a band of chocolate brown blanket satin. Love Notes has been one of my all time favorite lines, in fact, I'm making an 8x8 acetate mini album for the upcoming CreaTIVE cUTS AND mORE bLOG hop! The hop will be on Monday, August 10th, and I really hope you can join us for all the fun!!

Athletic Hands by Shady Tree Studio

This is one of my new stamp sets from Cornish Heritage Farms. It's called Athletic Hands by Shady Tree Studio. What I like so much about this set is its timeless appeal. It works just as well for a six year old as for a 60 year old. All you have to do to change the feel of the card is change the paper and colors.

Today I went with a few of the remaining remnants of My Mind's Eye Kaleidoscope. As I said yesterday, this line reminds me of summer! I stamped this image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with pencils/OMS. I masked off the image with both a circle nestie, and a cut out of the image itself and sprayed with Caspian Sea shimmer mist. I added a little Angel Wings Shimmerz to the baseball, I can't be expected to make a card with no shimmer at all!

The brads are regular office supply brads embossed in SU! Glorious Green, now retired, of course! The edges are inked with Brilliant Blue, and the base is Glorious Green from the Bold Brights multi pack I bought in 2000. I don't use a lot of Glorious Green, those three sheets have lasted me more than nine years!

I used a Cindy Haffner sketch for this card. It was one of the Dar to Get Dirty challenges over on SCS. I don't know how dirty I got, but I played almost all of the challenges!

Cakeorama!!!

These are my favorite cake images, I think! I have a lot of stamps, so I don't want to be rash, but these Anna Wight stamps from Whipper Snapper are so sweet and charming, I just love them!

I wanted to use my old My Mind's Eye from 2006, so that's how I chose the colors. Kaleidoscope is one of my favorite summer lines, the colors are just perfect for August, don't you think? I colored the images with Koh-I-Noor pencils/OMS, and added some Aqua Stickles to the dots on the cake, popped them all up on foam tape and called it good.

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer! My oldest and I just got back from Denver. We picked up his guitar from the repair shop, did some shopping with my little sister, and picked up a bike DH bought on eBay. I'm so glad to be home! It's only a three hour drive, but Denver is a big city now, and traffic is insane! I get very nervous in all that traffic.

Creative Cuts and More Pyramid Box

I got this fun Pyramid Box at Creative Cuts and More, and simply added Crafty Secrets stickers to it, and voila all done!! I brushed powder all over the backs of the stickers to get rid of the sticky so I could mount them on foam. Then I added some DoodleBug Beetle Black Jewels and a bit of Crystal Stickles, and tied the box together with SU! gingham ribbon. This was quick enough to use as party favors!

I LOVE this snail!!!

This is my all time favorite snail image. I have a thing for snails, and am usually defenseless against a snail stamp! I don't remember when I saw this stamp for the first time, but it was love at first sight. It was some time in the last year, and the only reason I can think of now as to why I didn't buy it instantly is that it was right before Christmas or I had recently spent too much on myself to do it.

Well, I was over at SCS a few weeks ago and I was looking over the DT calls forum. I rarely submit, but I like to see what's going on, and I always go check out the companies. Well, there was Dog Gone Stamps. The name didn't really ring a bell with me, so I went to check them out and there was my favorite snail!!! So, long story short, I submitted and was thrilled right down to my toes to be chosen!! When Nancy asked me what stamps I wanted, this snail was at the top of my list, and it was the first one I inked up when my new lovelies arrived! I can't wait to show you what else I got!!

Dog Gone Stamps has a wonderfully diverse collection and it is growing! I'm really excited about more of their garden creatures, their Halloween stamps and their 1926 line. The stamps are beautiful, deeply etched red rubber and they come foam mounted. They are also very good sized. All the stamps I have are larger than I thought they'd be. I hope you have time to go take a look, I think you'll be glad you did!

Scripture Book~March

I started this scripture book two years ago as part of an SCS challenge. I got January and February finished, then petered out. I got it back out a few days ago and did March. I think I'll try to actually get it finished. I have it all together in one spot with one of my all time favorite paper lines, My Mind's Eye Bohemia, coordinating Bazzill, MME rubons, and an alphabet. I'm putting it all together in a Prima board book I bought way back in June, '06. The vellum scriptures are from Making Memories. My final step was a few sprays of Chestnut Brown Glimmer Mist. Everything's better with Glimmer, don't you think? I don't think you can get this color anymore, but you can check out all the gorgeous current colors here.

Do you have any unfinished projects in your stamp studio? Why not get them out and finish them along with me!?
