New stamp from Shady Tree Studio!

Isn't this new gift box from Cornish Heritage Farm's Shady Tree Studio line pretty? Nancy, the artist who draws the STS line has been sending me some of her stamps to work with, and I honestly can't begin to tell you how much it means to me that she would trust me to show off her beautiful stamps! This present would work for wedding cards, baby showers, and even Christmas, if you truned the flowers into berries by making them red-with glitter of course!

Speaking of glitter, the day I made this, it was VERY hot in my studio, and my Crystal Stickles came galloping out of the bottle at an unheard of pace. It was very liquidy! Well, Stickles is easy to wipe off, I do it all the time when I make a mistake. But I didn't want to waste this much Stickles, and I don't like thick layers of it, so I grabbed a brush and painted it where I wanted it. My pics don't show it, but there is beautiful sparkle all over this image!

Tha paper is Basic Gray's Two Scoops, and the rubon is Making Memories.

This card uses the Pullin' Pastels technique. GinaK showed this technique last week over on STV, and this was my take on it. I've known about the technique for years, but had never tried it. It's really a lot of fun. I have really been enjoying StampTV. Everyone over there is so nice, and I love to play the challenges. The stamp set I used is called Take Flight. Everything else is from the Floral Frenzy Stamp TV kit. Have you tried this Chocolate Kiss base weight paper from GKD? It's my new favorite! Chocolate Chip has been my go to brown for NINE years, but now it's only Chocolate Kiss for me!!

More challenge cards!

This was a sketch challenge over on SCS about a week ago. I have a hard time with very symetrical sketches, but I think this turned out alright. The sweet little flower is a Whipper Snapper stamp form Anna Wight's set, Posies For You. This is such a great little set to have on hand, and timelessly drawn. This one will be in my collection for a long time. I added a little Crystal & Aqua Stickles, and some American Crafts white gel pen dots. It's pretty simple.

New Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellie!! This one is called Bear Hugs, isn't she sweet? The colors here are from Color Throwdown, but I don't think I ever got it linked in time. I've been having so much fun playing all these challenges, but I have a bad habit of not getting them posted and linked by the deadlines! Oh well, the fun is in the making, right? This paper is from Dena's Closet by Colorbok. It's one of my all time favorite lines of patterned paper-it's just so sweet and pretty. I love the colors and the patterns, and I will use every single scrap of it! I won the SU! Star Flower punch on Carolina's blog about a year ago. I use it constantly and LOVE it!! I wouldn't want to do without it!

This is a scheduled post. I'm just trying to get a little bit ahead. If I keep scheduling posts, I may not miss one during the move. If I have time to take a break from cleaning and packing tomorrow, I'll schedule another one. The moving van comes on the 15th, so things are getting pretty crazy around here. You can barely walk through the house due to all the boxes. I really despise moving, however, I'm so glad we are going back to CO!

A picture of our new house!

Just some Crafty Secrets goodness here! I made a crepe paper flower, then added some die cut flowers, a large Prima and a Bazzill flower and sewed them all together with a button. I use a Sizzix die to cut my pattern tissue flowers, and I do about a dozen layers at a time. They are fun and quick to make, and I use them on almost every card. For a little extra sparkle, I added Gold Stickles throughout the card. The card base is just a piece of Crafty Secrets Pastel Pad paper folded in half, so this card is 6x6. The main image is from Creative Scraps-Garden, I added a making memories rubon. I love the way rubons show so well on top of other stuff. Sometimes I feel that a stamped image won't have quite the impact, or show well enough on a printed or distressed surface. That's when I pull out a rubon. If you have rubons and don't use them, I suggest you get them out and use them, as they do go bad. I had to throw away an entire package of Basic Gray rubons once. I never buy them on sale. The savings is not worth the trouble of trying to get them to lay donw right, or even worse, scrap them off when you only got part of the rubon down.


This one's all Unity, and some DP I don't know about. The maker strip is gone, but the colors are cool, and I followed them for the card. I made this for a Unity challenge. When I went to upload it, I read the challenge more carefully and discovered that it was a MONOCHROMATIC challenge. Oh, well, I still love the card. It's not my usual style, but I had a lot of fun with it, and was pleased with the way it turned out. I colored the images with markers and reinkers, after embossing them with VersaFine Onyx and Crystal Clear ep. I did a litlle sewing, a little punching, a scrap of ric rac and a button. There is Angel Dust Art Glitter on the cloud, and Aqua Stickles on some of the green parts of the images. Not as sparkly as usual, but sparkly enough to keep me happy! The base of this card is Leapfrog Green Mono #4 Bazzill Canvas. I get all my Bazzill at Creative Cuts and More.

New Flourishes, Old Magnolia

I think I got this Magnolia in December and she had not seen ink yet. Isn't she sweet? I tried very hard to use these colors and NOT make a Christmas card, but I can't look at this card and not think Christmas. Even the sentiment is perfect for a child's Christmas card. I guess this is proof positive that we produce what we think about, even if we are concentrating on NOT doing it! This is for one of those mega challenges out there that all the Magnolia gals play, but I can't remember which one, so I will have to go search for it! Went and found it! It's week 54 A Spoon Full of Sugar! They post a new challenge every Tuesday. You are not limited to Magnolia stamps for this one, but most of the gals do the Magnoliaesque colored characters that are so popular right now. I can't even list all the companies!

This is my first card with my new set from Flourishes, All Wrapped Up. I almost didn't post it, as I felt that this one was a bit tortured and overdone. However, I've never been afraid to post cards I think aren't the greatest in the world. I don't know why, it just doesn't bother me or embarrass me to make a klinker now and then, I just consider it a part of the process. I do like pink and gold together, though!

StampTV Challenges

This layout is a sketch from Erika's weekly scrapbooking challenge over on GinaK's StampTV. I love doing these challenges, because they force me to do a layout. My goal for 2009 is to make 52 pages. I still have time to get that accomplished, although I am very behind. Moving to within two hours of my baby sister in a week or so will help, because she's a scrapper.

I used Basic Gray Aged & Confused paper. This paper fits my oldest so well, it's like it was made for him. It's complex and beautiful, just like he is. There are embossed chipboard stars from BG, and all the other stars are from an old scrappin' kit from My Mind's Eye. They are well distressed, embossed and Glimmer Misted to within an inch of their lives! I also added bits and pieces of the metal that I always pick up when we are out. Yesterday when we were geocaching, I picked up three more of those old pul tabs. I do my part. The tag is from the Crafty Secrets Travel  Creative Scraps. I reach for these constantly! 

This card is for Cammie's color challenge over at STV. We were to use red and blue, but not in a patriotic card. Red & Blue are not my colors, so I was out of my comfort zone before I even got started! I used GKD Bold Flowers for the dots and the tree stumps. I added lots of Christmas Red Stickles, of course! Not bad for red and blue!

Sunday Blessings #6 Blog Candy

I have A LOT of stamps I don't use anymore.  I have decided to give a stamp set away every Sunday for as long as I have them. This is my sixth giveaway.
